Freehand stylus painting

I feel like water is the most emotional of all the elements, shapeless and adapting, capable of both stillness and devastation. I return to water in my work because I am drawn to its duality, the way it can be untamed and peaceful in the same breath, the way it reflects what stands before it. I have learned water is also a symbol of the subconscious. Painting it over and over is a way of returning to something deep and unresolved, or something beloved- it always feels like an unfinished conversation.
